General Information On Aceon Plus

Aceon Plus is used for treating high blood pressure in patients with hypertension. Its generic name is Perindopril/Indapamide. Perindopril belongs to the therapeutic class of ACE inhibitors, and Indapamide is a diuretic. You can buy Aceon Plus in the form of an oral tablet. Perindopril works by widening the blood vessels so that blood can flow through them more smoothly and indapamide works by lowering the volume of blood in the body.

Side Effects for Aceon Plus

Some of the Aceon Plus side effects that patients may experience during treatment include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, dry cough, and fatigue. If any of these side effects persist or become bothersome, contact your doctor. Inform your doctor at once if you experience chest pain or a slow or irregular heartbeat. Immediately contact your doctor if you have difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, hoarseness, or swelling of your eyes, lips, face, hands, tongue, or throat. You should also stop taking Aceon Plus Called Coversyl Plus if you develop an allergic reaction to it. This can be identified by difficulty in breathing, swollen face, tongue, throat or lips, hives and rashes.

Precautions

Aceon Plus is not meant for patients who have an allergy to Perindopril, Indapamide, or any other ACE inhibitors. Patients with liver or kidney disease should also not take this drug. Avoid or limit alcohol intake during Aceon Plus treatment, as alcohol may lower your blood pressure to dangerous levels and worsen the side effects of Aceon Plus. Also avoid taking potassium supplements or salt substitutes while on Aceon Plus. As this drug may cause dizziness, you should not drive a vehicle, operate a machine, or perform any such activity that requires compete alertness. Drinking plenty of water during treatment will help prevent dehydration. Pregnant women are also not advised to take Aceon Plus, as it may harm the unborn baby, especially if taken during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Lactating mothers should also avoid taking the drug as it is not still not known whether it passes into breast milk or not.

Aceon Plus Dosage

You can buy Aceon Plus tablets in strengths of Aceon Plus 2/0.625mg, Aceon Plus 4/1.25mg, and Aceon Plus 8/2.5mg. Aceon Plus is usually taken once daily. The dosage recommended to you depends on your medical condition, your current blood pressure, your age, other medical conditions you are suffering from, other medicines you are taking at present, and your response to the treatment. The tablets can be taken with or without meals. They have to be swallowed whole, without chewing, breaking, or dissolving them.

Interactions

Inform your doctor about all the prescription and non-prescription drugs you are taking at present. Special dosage adjustments will be needed if you are taking diuretics, anti-diabetic medicines, potassium, lithium, indomethacin, clozapine, or azathioprine. As this drug causes dizziness, you should not take it with other drugs that cause the same effect.
