Side Effects for Alkeran Injection

Alkeran Injection may cause severe side effects such as easy bleeding and decreased bone marrow function. Studies show that hypersensitive reactions occur in nearly 2% of patients who receive Alkeran Injection. Before you start treatment, discuss its potential risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

The common and mild side effects of this drug are: temporary hair loss, mild diarrhea, vomitting, nausea, mild skin rash and itching, or white patches inside the mouth. The aforementioned side effects, in most cases, occur only during the start of treatment. Once your body gets used to the drug, you can expect these symptoms to subside or disappear completely. However, in case any of the symptoms persist for a long time or exacerbate, you should immediately contact your doctor.

Consult your doctor if you experience any of the following serious side effects after receiving Alkeran Injection: unusual lumps, fever, body aches, chills, easy bleeding, missed menstrual periods, unexpected and sudden weight gain, loss of appetite, stomach ache, clay-colored stools, yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or mental/mood changes.

You must seek immediate medical help if the drug triggers a hypersensitive reaction. Common symptoms of a hypersensitive reaction are: difficulty in breathing, swollen face, tongue, throat or lips, hives and rashes.

This is not a complete list of side effect for Alkeran Injection. Read the information leaflet for patients, which would be received when you would buy Alkeran Injection to know all the possible side effects of this drug.
