General Information on Atacand HCT
Atacand HCT is a combination medication that is used in the treatment of hypertension or high blood pressure. It consists of two components Candesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCT). The former restricts the hormone angiotensin ll from compressing the blood vessels that allows free flow of blood and thereby keeps the blood pressure down. The HCT increases the output of urine which leads to the removal of excess fluids and thus reduces the blood pressure. This medicine is available with the prescription of a doctor and can be purchased in the dosage strengths of Atacand HCT 32/12.5 mg, Atacand 16/12.5 mg and Atacand 32/25 mg. It is taken orally and can be administered with or without food.
