General Information On Banzel
Banzel or Inovelon is used primarily in the treatment of seizures. However, Banzel is used mainly as add on therapy. The most common use for Banzel or Inovelon is for treating seizures that come with Lennox Gastaut syndrome, when the child is above the age of 4 or in adults. The drug is administered when other medication does not completely control the seizure. However, some doctors may choose to use Banzel by itself as well. There are other general and partial seizures that respond to generic or brand Banzel or Inovelon. The degree of improvement in cases like these differs from patient to patient.
Side effects / Precaution for Banzel
The list of side effects of the brand or generic Banzel or Inovelon drug is quite long. It can include headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, double vision, fatigue, nausea, symptoms of the common cold and flu, decrease in appetite, bronchitis, rash, sinusitis, stomach pain, itching, hyperactivity, infections in the ear, heartburn and indigestion, constipation, vertigo, hyperactivity and walking and coordination problems. Rufinamide can also cause changes in behavior and the patient can start showing signs of depression and / or aggression.

The target dose is 45 mg/kg/day which can be achieved by increasing the dose by each day. In adults the initial dose is recommended to be 400 mg/day to 800 mg/day. This is also divided and administered daily in 2 equal doses. Dose adjustment for patients with renal impairment is not required. The dose may be adjusted for patients who undergo hemodialysis, because hemodialysis affects the performance of the drug. Patients with hepatic diseases must avoid this drug.
