General Information On Betoptic S
Betoptic S is an ophthalmic suspension prescribed to treat chronic open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. The generic name of the drug is Betaxolol Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Suspension. The drug belongs to a class of drugs known as beta blockers. Betaxolol works by reducing the amount of fluid in the eye. The drug is effective in lowering intraocular pressure, but you should consult your doctor before you buy Betoptic S.
Side Effects for Betoptic S
Some people may experience side effects after using Betoptic S. You should remember that your doctor has prescribed this drug because he/she is of the opinion that the benefits of the drug should outweigh the potential risks associated with any side effects. However, please inform your doctor if you experience any side effects of Betoptic S. Some of the side effects are dizziness, itchy/watery/dry/red eyes, temporary discomfort/stinging in the eyes, and blurred vision. You may also experience a feeling as if something is in the eye after using Betoptic S drops. You should immediately consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsen or persist for a long time. Some people may also experience severe side-effects such as vision changes, swelling of the feet/ankles, increased sensitivity to light, muscle weakness, irregular/slow heartbeat, mood changes, hair loss or eye pain/discharge/swelling. You may also experience breathing problems, weakness on one side of the body, persistent dizziness, slurred speech or confusion after using Betoptic S.
Precautions
You should be careful that the tip of the dispenser does not touch any other surface (to avoid contamination). If you are using any other eye drop or ointments along with Betoptic S, then you should wait for at least 10 minutes before using other medications. If you are a contact lens wearer, remove them before using Betoptic S and do not wear them again within 15-20 minutes after using the medication. You should not use the drug if you are allergic to Betoptic S or any beta blockers such as Timolol or Metipranolol.
You should notify your doctor if you have any allergies or have serious heart conditions such as severe heart failure or cardiogenic shock. You should tell your doctor about your medical history of low blood sugar levels, over-active thyroid, breathing problems and diabetes before he/she prescribes the drug. You should buy Betoptic S only as per the recommendation of your doctor and use it as instructed.
Betoptic S Dosage
Betoptic S is available in the form of an ophthalmic suspension. You need to use one drop of Betoptic S Ophthalmic Suspension 0.25% in the affected eye two times in a day or as recommended by your physician. The drug can be used with other medications or alone to treat high pressure in the eye or other eye diseases. You should shake the solution before use and prevent contamination.
Interactions
Betoptic S may react with other medications and cause adverse reactions.
