General Information On Cyklokapron
Cyklokapron is used as a short term measure for treating Hemophilia. It is a prescription drug that is used for managing bleeding due to an injury or bleeding of the nose or any menstrual bleeding. It is also used in reducing the need for replacement therapy either during or after a tooth extraction. The Cyklokapron drug can be administered orally and is also available as an intravenous solution. This drug helps in the reduction of bleeding after a coronary artery bypass surgery.

Generic Tranexamic acid or aminomethyl cyclohexane carboxylic acid has a few side effects. Some of the most common side effects of or generic Cyklokapron relate to nausea, giddiness, diarrhea, vomiting and a sensation of euphoria. Cyklokapron Dosage
10 mg/kg of Cyklokapron is administered in individuals with hemophilia, just before a tooth extraction. After the tooth extraction a dose of 10 mg/kg is administered, 3 to 4 times a day, for 2 days to 8 days. The drug is meant for short term use only. The doses of Cyklokapron are adjusted for patients with renal diseases based on the creatinine clearance. For creatinine clearance of 1.36 - 2.83 mg/dl the recommended dose is 10 mg/kg BID. For creatinine clearance of 2.83 - 5.66 mg/dl the dose is 10 mg/kg/day. Also, for creatinine clearance of values greater than 5.66 mg/dl the dose is 10 mg/kg administered once in 48 hours or 5 mg/kg administered once in 24 hours.
