General Information On Dantrium
Dantrium or Dantrolene sodium is a drug used for curing muscle cramps and tightness caused due to nerve disorders such as cerebral palsy, stroke, injury and multiple sclerosis. Dantrium is a muscle relaxant; it eases stiffness and muscle pain and improves your ability to move. Dantrium is used in combination with other medications to treat high fever caused due to surgery or anesthesia. Dantrolene sodium is used for curing uncommon conditions such as neuroleptic malignant syndrome that causes muscle stiffness, palpitations and high fever.
Side Effects for Dantrium
Dantrium users can experience weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, nausea and diarrhea during the initial days when the body is trying to adjust to this drug. You can also experience constipation, headache and slurred speech. The problem should dissipate after few days, but contact your doctor if the problem persists. In rare cases, patients using Dantrium may experience severe side effects like sun sensitivity, dark stools and vomiting, violent mood swings, change in vision, problems swallowing, difficulty urinating, severe constipation, palpitations, seizures and rapid heartbeat. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice the above side effects or experience signs of infection, swelling of the feet/ankles, and breathing problems.
Precautions
Make your doctor aware of all the medications that you are using, and are allergic to, before you start using Dantrolene. Dantrium is not recommended for pregnant women and mothers who are breastfeeding. Dantrium usage can make you dizzy and drowsy. Do not undertake any activity that requires high alertness after using this muscle relaxant.
Dantrium Dosage
Dantrium 25mg, Dantrium 50mg and Dantrium 100mg capsules are available in the market. Doctors may initially start with a small dosage and gradually increase the dose until the right strength for you is found. Therefore, you may buy Dantrium 25mg for 7 -14 days then the dose will be increased to Dantrium 50mg for the next 7 days.
