General Information On Eurax
Eurax is a scabicidal agent used as a lotion or cream. The generic name for Eurax is Crotamiton USP. The cream ranges from a colorless to a slight yellow tint, and it has a slight amine odor. You can buy Eurax to treat scabies and reduce itching in certain conditions.
Side Effects for Eurax
A few side effects may occur when you apply Eurax. For example, itching, redness of the skin, or skin irritation may occur. If these side effects persist for a long time or worsen, then it is best to consult your doctor. Very rare and serious allergic reactions may also surface. If that happens, then the patient must seek medical help immediately. The symptoms of an allergic reaction to Eurax are rashes, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat, breathing problems, or dizziness.
Precautions
Do not apply Eurax to your eyes, nose, or mouth. If the medication gets into these areas, rinse them thoroughly. Eurax Dosage
Eurax must be used exactly as per your doctor’s instructions. Do not use more than the prescribed amount of Eurax to treat your condition. To treat scabies, shake the lotion before use and apply a thin layer of the medication to the whole body. The cream must be spread from neck to the sole of the feet. Apply Eurax on dry skin and leave the medication on for 24 hours. After that, apply a second coating without washing the first one off. Wash the 2 coatings thoroughly only after 48 hours of applying the second Eurax coating. To treat itching, apply the lotion onto the affected areas until it is absorbed by the skin. Massage the area and repeat the process if required.
If you overdose on Eurax, seek medical attention immediately. The symptoms of an overdose can include irritation or inflammation of the mouth, stomach lining, and throat. It can also lead to a burning sensation in the mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Apart from applying Eurax cream, you must also clean and sterilize your clothing, linen, combs, and bed linen. This will prevent the infection from recurring.
Interactions
The effect of Eurax may get diminished if you use other drugs or herbal products during the course of treatment. If this happens, you may be at risk of suffering from serious side effects. Avoid using any other topical cream or lotion on your body when you use Eurax. Inform your doctor if you are taking any over-the-counter or prescription medications while using Eurax.
