General Information On Finacea
Finacea is a topical gel that is used to treat pimple and blackhead formation and destroy bacteria that cause rosacea and acne. It contains azelaic acid, which helps the skin renew and repair itself quickly. You can buy Finacea to treat mild or moderate rosacea.
Side Effects for Finacea
Finacea may cause side effects, but they occur very rarely. The most common side effects include dryness, temporary itching, burning, tingling, stinging, or redness in the applied area. Inform your doctor if these side effects become persistent or increase in severity.
Some severe and very rare side effects can occur with Finacea. These side effects include changes in skin color and inflammation, irritation, or peeling away of skin. Seek immediate medical assistance if you witness any of these side effects after applying Finacea.
Allergic reactions may occur in some patients. The side effects of an allergic reaction to Finacea would include itching, rashes, hives, breathing difficulty, tightness around the chest, and swelling of the face, mouth, tongue and lips. If you experience any of these side effects, stop applying Finacea immediately and seek medical help at once.
Precautions
You must buy Finacea as prescribed by your doctor. Inform him/her if you are allergic to propylene glycol or azelaic acid. Finacea may not harm an unborn child, but it’s recommended that you talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning to get pregnant during the course of treatment. Finacea may not pass into breast milk and harm the baby, but do not use Finacea without consulting your doctor if you are breastfeeding.
When you buy Finacea gel, do not apply the medication in the rectum, vagina, nose, mouth or eyes. Do not apply it onto sunburned, dry, chapped, broken or irritated skin. Once these conditions are healed, you can apply Finacea. Do not use other skin care products like skin cleansers or harsh soaps that can cause irritation. Other products with alcohol, spices, lime or astringents must also be avoided.
Certain diet restrictions can be put in place if you are taking Finacea. You may have to avoid food items that cause redness or flushing of the skin while you are on Finacea treatment. Examples of such food items include hot and spicy foods and alcoholic beverages.
Finacea Dosage
After washing your hands, a thin layer of Finacea gel must be spread over the affected areas and then gently massaged twice a day. Once the medication has been applied, wash your hands once again. The gel may be applied once in the morning and once at bedtime, or as per the doctor’s orders. Do not cover the area on which the gel has been applied. This may result in the skin absorbing the gel, which is dangerous to the body. It may take four weeks for the medication to show some results. The doctor must be informed if a patient’s condition does not improve after 12 weeks of treatment.
Interactions
Finacea has not been found to interact with other oral or injectable medications. If you are taking other medications, however, it is best if you inform your doctor beforehand. This includes other topical medications that you may be using.
