General Information on Frova
If you are suffering from menstrual migraine, your doctor may prescribe you Frova. Frova contains Frovatriptan Succinate, an active ingredient used in the treatment of adult migraines that crop up during the menstrual cycle.
A lot of people found that using Frova made migraine symptoms disappear completely or at least reduced it significantly enough to enable them to carry out their regular activities. Frovatriptan in Frova also relieves nausea, vomiting tendencies, and sensitivity to light and sound. However, it is not a standard pain reliever and does not work for pains that are not related to menstruation. People whose migraines do not subside through aspirin, acetaminophen, or other pain relievers are prescribed Frova. Moreover, it is not effective against cluster headaches commonly experienced by older males.
Frova Side Effects
Frova poses a few side effects just like any other medications. Not everyone experiences side effects, and the ones who do usually show mild symptoms. Common side effects include fatigue, tingling of the hands and feet, dry mouth, hot or cold flashes, dizziness, chest pain, bone aches, and indigestion.
Frova Precautions
Before you buy Frova, make sure that your doctor knows all about your current medical conditions. If you suffer from heart ailments such as angina, irregular heartbeat, or have any history of past heart attacks, etc., you should stay away from this drug. Frovatriptan may also have adverse effects on those with a history of strokes or brain hemorrhage.
Those having high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes, ischemic bowel disease, liver disorders, or allergies should also use the medicine with caution. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, are taking medication for depression, or have been through menopause before the drug is prescribed.
Frova Dosage
There is only a single dosage available for this medicine. Frova 2.5mg is prescribed for adults suffering from migraine related headaches. One tablet is to be taken after migraine starts, and a second tablet needs to be taken if the headache is back after the first dose. However, you should wait for at least 2 hours in between the doses. Restrict your doses to three tablets per day. Children should be given Frova only as per the doctor’s instructions as self-medication may give rise to serious effects.
This medicine is not for daily intake and should be used only when there is a migraine attack. It should not be taken on an empty stomach, and once the tablet is ingested, it should be washed down with lots of fluids.
Frova Interactions
Frova causes interactions with a few antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI), Tricyclic antidepressants, ergot medications, and triptans. Triptans and ergot medications, when combined with Frova, increase the risk of serious side effects quite considerably. There are certain other drugs that react with this medicine.
If you buy Frova online with a doctor's prescription as required, make sure to take it as directed by your doctor.
