General Information on Galzin
Galzin (generic name – Zinc Acetate) is a prescription drug used for treating Wilson disease and to prevent zinc deficiency in the body. The drug contains Zinc acetate, a mineral found naturally in human body. This mineral is essential for healthy growth and development of body tissues. Galzin is available in capsule form and the dosage is administered orally. The drug works by blocking copper absorption in the body. Typically, doctors advise patients to take the drug alone, but depending on your medical condition the doctor may advise you to use it with other drugs. If you have zinc deficiency, your doctor may suggest you to buy Galzin for healthy body growth.
Side Effects for Galzin
Galzin has the potential to cause some side effects. Some patients may experience minor side effects, while in rare cases patients may suffer serious side effects. Also, many patients who use this drug may experience no side effects at all.
The most common and minor side effects of Galzin are vomiting, nausea, and stomach upset. Although these side effects don’t have adverse consequences, they may cause slight discomfort for a while.
The other lesser know but serious side effects of Galzin include severe allergic reaction (symptoms – severe itching, breathing difficulty, chest pain, tightness or swelling in the chest, hives, or swelling of the lips, tongue, or face), constant vomiting, unusual weakness or restlessness, and dry mouth. If you suffer from any of the side effects you must stop using the drug and immediately consult your doctor.
Precautions
Galzin should not be given to children below 10 years of age, unless directed by a doctor. During the treatment, your doctor may suggest you undergo lab tests to check the proper functioning of your liver and copper levels in your blood. Make sure that you do not miss any of your appointments with your doctor.
Clinical tests of this drug suggest that traces of Galzin are excreted into breast milk. Therefore, breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before using this drug. In addition, pregnant women should use Galzin only if they are told to do so by their doctors.
Galzin Dosage
After studying your condition, your doctor will prescribe you the correct dosage. Take your daily Galzin dosage at least 1 hour before a meal or 3-4 hours after a meal, unless specified otherwise by your doctor. You must not break, crush, or chew the tablet. Instead, you should swallow it completely with water. If you buy Galzin you must strictly adhere to the recommended dosage to avoid unwanted health complications.
Interactions
If you are using other medications (over-the-counter drugs, prescription medicines and herbal products/supplements) you must inform your doctor about them. This is important because the combination of Galzin and other medicines may lead to negative drug interactions. This drug may potentially interact with Penicillamine, Risedronate, and certain blood thinners such as Warfarin. The clinical trials of Galzin suggest that it may also interact with tetracycline antibiotics such as Demeclocycline, Tetracycline, or Doxycycline and Fluroquinolone antibiotics such as Enoxacin, Ciprfloxacin, and Sparfloxacin.
