General Information On Glynase
You may need to buy Glynase for treatment of Type 2 diabetes. The generic name of this drug is Glyburide, and it comes under the category of sulfonylurea-type drugs. This drug should not be used for treatment of Type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent).
Side Effects for Glynase
Common and less serious side effects of this drug include: mild itching, mild skin rash, muscle pain, joint pain, blurred vision, mild nausea, or heartburn. In case any of the aforementioned symptoms persist or worsen, then you must immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Uncommon but serious side effects of this drug include: fever, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, black/tarry stools, loss of appetite, pain in the abdominal area, jaundice, easy bruising or bleeding, headache, shallow breathing, seizure, memory problems, hallucinations, or problem concentrating. If you experience any of the aforementioned symptoms, immediately stop the medication and consult your doctor.
In rare cases, this drug may trigger a very serious allergic reaction (symptoms are: trouble breathing, hives, rashes, or swelling/itching). In case you notice any of the aforementioned symptoms, then stop the medication and seek medical help.
Precautions
You should not buy Glynase if you (1) are allergic to sulfonylurea-type drugs, (2) are in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis, (3) have type 1 diabetes, or (4) are being treated with Bosentan.
Before you use this medication, ensure that you tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have: anemia, liver disease, kidney disease, glucose-6- phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (an enzyme deficiency), or nerve disorders.
The effect of this drug on an unborn child or breastfeeding mother is unknown. This is why pregnant women, nursing mothers, and women who are planning to become pregnant while on medication must use this drug only after consulting their doctor.
Glynase Dosage
Based on your condition and response to therapy, your doctor will advise the right dosage for you. Usually, the starting dose is Glyburide 2.5mg to 5mg once a day. Take this medicine with breakfast or your first meal of the day unless your doctor advises otherwise. You must take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor and should not increase or decrease the dosage without first consulting him/her. Store the medicine at room temperature and away from heat, light, and moisture.
Interactions
This drug may interact with certain drugs. This is why you must tell your doctor about all the medications you are using, especially: Disopyramide, Ketoconazole, Fluconazole, Rifampin (Rifater, Rifadin, Rimactane), blood-thinning drugs, Cyclosporine, beta-blockers (such as Carvedilol, Atenolol, Metoprolol, or Propranolol).
Your chances of developing hyperglycemia increase when you take this medication with the following medicines: diuretics, thyroid medicines, isoniazid, blood pressure medicines, seizure medicines, Niacin, diet pills, or birth control pills. Your chances of developing hypoglycaemia increase if you take this medication with the following drugs: Probenecid, Clarithromycin, blood pressure medicines, Exenatide, certain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, sulfa drugs, aspirin, or certain other diabetes medicines (such as Rosiglitazone, Metformin, Pioglitazone , Miglitol, or Acarbose).
Glynase may also interact with drugs that are not listed above. Talk to your doctor about all the medications that you are currently using.
