General Information On Inderal LA

Your doctor may prescribe you Inderal LA (the generic name of this drug is propranolol) for treatment of heart rhythm disorders, hypertension, angina, or tremors. In addition to the conditions listed above, this drug may also be used for treatment of certain other circulatory or heart disorders, as well as migraine headaches. This drug does not cure migraine, but reduces the intensity and frequency of the debilitating headaches.

Side Effects for Inderal LA

Like many drugs, this medication may too cause certain unpleasant side effects. All the side effects listed here are divided into two categories, namely less serious and serious. You must seek immediate medical help if you notice any symptoms that are listed in the serious side effect section.

The following are the less serious side effects of this drug: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, reduced sex drive, impotency, stomach cramps, or constipation. Continue using this medication if you notice any of these symptoms. You should consult your doctor if any of the above symptoms worsen or persist.

Some patients who buy Inderal LA experience severe side effects. Stop using the drug and consult your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms: shortness of breath, increased thirst/urination, numbness or tingling sensation in legs/arms, swelling of feet/ankles, blue fingers/toes, sudden and unexplained gain in weight, fever, loss of appetite, dark-colored urine, black/tarry stools, or severe stomach pain.

This drug is unlikely to trigger a serious allergic reaction (symptoms are: breathing problems, hives, skin rashes, or itching/swelling). In case you experience any of the above symptoms, then immediately stop using the drug and seek medical help.

Precautions

Do not buy Inderal LA if you are allergic to it or if you have: asthma, emphysema, bronchitis, hypotension (low blood pressure), diabetes, heart block (especially second or third degree heart block), congestive heart failure, slow heart rate, liver disease, kidney disease, pheochromocytoma (a rare tumor of adrenal gland tissue), or a thyroid disorder. Before using this drug, ensure that you tell your doctor your complete and accurate medical history.

Propranolol can be harmful to an unborn child or a breastfeeding mother and her child. This is why pregnant women, women who plan to become pregnant during treatment, and nursing women should not use this drug without first consulting their doctor.

Inderal LA Dosage

You must take this drug as directed by your doctor. Under no circumstance should you stop using Inderal LA or reduce the dosage without consulting your doctor. Stopping this medication immediately may worsen your condition.

Interactions

This drug may interact with certain drugs, such as: warfarin, dobutamine, clonidine, antidepressants (e.g. imipramine, amitriptyline, and desipramine), digitals (e.g. Lanoxin and digoxin), MAO inhibitors (e.g. rasagiline, tranylcypromine, phenelzine, selegiline, and isocarboxazid), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. ibuprofen, etodolac, ketoprofen, and indomethacin), heart medication (e.g. verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine, and reserpine), quinidine, propafenone, and ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) Inhibitors (e.g. fosinopril, moexipril, perindopril, ramipril, trandolapril, benazepril, lisinopril, quinapril, and enalapril).

This drug may also interact with drugs that are not included in the above list. So, make it a point to tell your doctor about all the prescription-based, non-prescription, and herbal drugs that you are taking.
