In rare cases, this medicine may cause serious side effects such as low heart rate, low blood pressure, fainting, or serious dizziness. Precautions

Interactions

Some of the drugs with which this medicine may interact include drugs that affect liver enzymes that remove guanfacine from the human body (such as rifamycins and azole antifungals). Drugs that cause drowsiness, such as antihistamines, psychiatric medicines, muscle relaxants, and anti-seizure drugs may worsen the symptoms of this medication.
