General Information on Lanvis

Lanvis is an anti-cancer medication responsible for slowing down cancer formation in the cells of the body. It is especially useful in treating leukemia. Thioguanine, which is the main ingredient of Lanvis, is known for its use in treating leukemia, especially of the acute nonlymphocytic type. It helps in remission induction therapy, remission consolidation therapy, as well as maintenance therapy of this type of leukemia.

Side Effects of Lanvis

Different people experience different side effects with Lanvis. However, the most common side effects experienced by people include yellowing of the skin or the eyes, darkening of the urine, constipation, nausea, vomiting, gastric disturbances, diarrhea, and decreased production of blood cells by the bone marrow.

Other side effects include hampered kidney and liver function along with an increased presence of uric acid in the urine. Similarly, there is a high degree of uric acid found in the blood, which again is a side effect of this drug.

It is important to note that these are not the only side effects experienced by patients. While these are common side effects, any individual may experience and exhibit other side effects, which should be considered with due seriousness.

Discontinuing the use of the drug, if and when an individual exhibits any of the above mentioned side effects or any other discomfort, is absolutely essential. Moreover, it is also important to immediately contact your doctor to help overcome the discomfort and repercussions of the side effect. Always inform your doctor about any effect of this drug that is alarming or disturbing.

Lanvis Precautions

Never take Lanvis 40mg if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Although there is no clinical study to prove any problem caused to such individuals or the unborn baby, it is best to avoid the intake of this drug in such cases.

Most people tend to discontinue Lanvis immediately after they start feeling better without realizing that this is extremely dangerous and could actually make your condition worse than before.

Direct exposure to the skin should be avoided at all times while taking this drug. During the intake of this drug, it is equally important to totally avoid alcoholic beverages.

It is important to inform your doctor if you are suffering from decreased functioning of the kidney or liver or are experiencing high levels of uric acid in the blood or urine. If you find any reduction in the production of blood cells by the bone marrow, notify your doctor about it immediately.

Lanvis Dosage

Lanvis 100mg or Lanvis 200 mg is prescribed usually for every square meter of the body surface area per day on a single or bd dosing for a period of 5-20 days. Lanvis 60mg or Lanvis 40 mg may also be prescribed depending on the patient’s condition. In case you do not understand the dosage, it is important to ensure that your doctor explains it to you in detail.

Interactions

Before you buy Lanvis, it is important to note that several drugs and medications influence the rate at which the drug acts and treats the disease. Busulfan, Aminosalicylates, Olsalazine, Sulfasalazine and Mesalazine are the most common drugs that increase the risk of myelosuppression or bone marrow suppression, which could interfere with the treatment provided by Lanvis. In addition, it is important to talk to your doctor about other drugs that may have the same effect.
