Lescol is a medication used in combination with a diet program to treat high cholesterol in adults and children (10 years or more). The generic name of the drug is Fluvastatin Sodium. Lescol belongs to a group of drugs known as statins and works to reduce bad cholesterol levels while simultaneously boosting the good cholesterol levels. The medication is available in the form of a tablet. High levels of bad cholesterol increase the risk of heart disease and other conditions. Lescol can prove useful in maintaining heart health. Side Effects for Lescol
Some people may experience some side effects after using Lescol, but it not necessary that every person taking Lescol will experience any side effects. Lescol Dosage
The drug is available in two strengths: Lescol 20mg and Lescol 40mg of Fluvastatin intended to be taken orally. The dosage of the medication is generally determined by your doctor. You can take the Lescol tablets with or without food. Your doctor may ask you to take one tablet of Lescol once or twice a day.
