General Information on Lexapro
Lexapro is used as antidepressant to treat anxiety in adults and those above 12 years of age. The drug is available in the form of a tablet. The generic name of Lexapro is escitalopram, and it belongs to a family of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. Lexapro works by affecting the unbalanced chemicals in the brain that cause anxiety and depression. Lexapro Side Effects
Some people may have allergic reactions after taking Lexapro such as hives or skin rashes, swelling of the lips, face, throat or tongue, and breathing difficulties.
