General Information On Luxiq Foam
Luxiq Foam is a topical application used for treating pruritic and inflammatory manifestations on the scalp such as seborrhea or psoriasis. The generic name for the drug is Betamethasone valerate foam, which belongs to the category of medium strength corticosteroids. It works by reducing swelling, redness, and itching, thus relieving your condition and symptoms. You can buy Luxiq Foam in the form of 100gm, 200gm and 300gm aluminum cans. The drug needs to be applied topically on the affected areas as prescribed by your doctor.
Side Effects for Luxiq Foam
Stinging, itching or burning on the affected area can occur, but most of these last only for a short time and get better on their own. However, if any of these worsen or persist, you need to seek medical help immediately. You must watch out for stretch marks, acne, skin thinning, skin discoloration, hair bumps, or folliculitis or unwanted hair growth. Luxiq Foam may get absorbed into a patient’s bloodstream and may lead to side effects like weight loss, swelling of the ankles or feet, headache, vision problems, increased thirst or urination, or unusual tiredness. An allergic reaction to the drug can be identified by trouble breathing, severe dizziness, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, throat, or lips and rashes. If you notice any of these conditions, you should immediately stop using Luxiq Foam and contact your doctor.
Precautions
Your doctor will not recommend you to buy Luxiq Foam if you have an allergy to the drug or to any other corticosteroids like hydrocortisone. Before using Luxiq Foam, you should also inform your doctor if you have a medical history of poor immunity or poor blood circulation. You need to remember that this medication can be used only for treating pruritic and inflammatory manifestations of the scalp, and should not be used if you have a viral, fungal or bacterial infection. When used on a child for a long time, Luxiq Foam can hamper his/her growth, and therefore, you should point out to the doctor if you feel that your child is not growing as expected. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, use this drug only if it is clearly needed, because its safety during these conditions has not yet been established.
Luxiq Foam Dosage
Luxiq Foam 0.12% has to be applied on the scalp twice a day in the morning and evening. To apply the medicine, turn the can upside down, spray it on a plate or saucer, scoop it onto your fingers, and massage gently on the affected area until it gets absorbed. Discard any foam that is left over in the saucer and do not cover the area with a bandage or dressing. Avoid getting the foam into your eyes, mouth, or nose, but if this happens, wash the area thoroughly using water and seek medical help if the irritation worsens or persists. Your doctor will mostly advise you to use Luxiq Foam for 2 weeks, but it also depends on your medical condition and response to treatment.
Interactions
Some of the products that can interact with Luxiq Foam include other corticosteroids, including oral products like prednisone and skin products like clobetasol or hydrocortisone.
