Maxalt MLT is a prescription drug that is used for treating different kinds of migraine attacks on a short term basis. A 10mg dose has been found to be more effective than a 5 mg dose but a higher dose should not be taken unless required, at least not without weighing the benefits and the possible side effects. Re-dosing should be done only after at least two hours have passed since the first dose. The total dosage should not exceed 30 mg in 24 hours. 5 mg is the prescribed dose in patients receiving propranolol and the total dosage in 24 hours should not exceed 15 mg.
