General Information On Mobic
Mobic is used for the treatment of arthritis. This drug falls under the class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Like other NSAIDs, Meloxicam (generic name of this drug) works by reducing the activity of hormones that contribute to the inflammation of the joints.
Side Effects for Mobic
You should stop your medication and seek medical help if you notice any of the following symptoms: problems with vision and balance, fatigue, slurred speech, chest pain, less than normal or no urine discharge, severe headache, sore throat or throat pain, weakness, bruising, and numbness or tingling sensation in your muscles or joints.
Some patients who use Mobic may show symptoms of liver damage (yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark-colored urine, black or tarry stools, fever, and loss of appetite). It is imperative that you identify the aforementioned symptoms for what they are, that is, early signs of liver damage, and seek medical help. Failure to seek timely medical help is likely to worsen the condition and develop into serious, perhaps even fatal, liver disease.
In addition to the above, stop taking Meloxicam if you experience the following: breathlessness, wheezing, breathing troubles, hives, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, throat, or other body parts.
Before you buy Mobic, talk to your doctor about the possible side effects of this medicine and how you can minimize their impact.
Precautions
NSAIDs such as Mobic increase an individual’s risk of cardiovascular disease. Patients who have recently undergone a heart bypass operation should not use this medicine. Similarly, you should not use this drug immediately after a heart bypass operation.
Patients who are allergic to Meloxicam, other NSAIDs, or aspirin should not buy Mobic. If you suffer from or have a history of certain health conditions such as blood clots, stroke, heart attack, asthma, liver disease, or kidney disease, your doctor may ask you to undergo special tests before declaring the treatment as safe. Before you start taking Mobic, share your complete medical history with your doctor.
This drug may harm an unborn child. If you are pregnant, use this drug only if your doctor advises you to do so. Meloxicam can seep into breast milk and may adversely affect the health of a breastfeeding child. Nursing mothers should therefore use this drug only upon consultation with their doctor.
Mobic Dosage
The dosage of this medicine will depend on the condition it is being used to treat. It is critical that you take Mobic only as directed by your doctor. The maximum recommended daily dose for adults is Mobic 15mg.
Interactions
You should not take certain drugs along with Mobic. Antidepressants (such as fluvoxamine, duloxetine, venlafaxine, sertraline, escitalopram, paroxetine, and others) when taken with Meloxicam may cause you to bruise/bleed easily. Other drugs that you should avoid while taking this medication include: other NSAIDs, blood-thinning drugs, diuretics, methotrexate, steroids, lithium, cyclosporine, and ACE inhibitors.
Other drugs or supplements may also interact with Mobic. To prevent unwanted drug interactions during the course of treatment, you should let your doctor know about all the medications that you are using.
