General Information On Natacyn

Natacyn is a, antifungal medication used for the treatment of fungal infection in the eyes. The drug is sometimes used to treat some other health issues that are not mentioned in the official drug monograph.

Side Effects for Natacyn

Every medication may have side effects. Most patients who use Natacyn have minor side effects or none at all. Seek emergency medical assistance if you suffer from a serious allergic reaction when you are on a Natacyn medication. The symptoms of the allergy include rashes, hives, difficulty in breathing and tightness of the chest. Other symptoms of an allergy to Natacyn include swelling of the lips, tongue, face and mouth. Inform your doctor if you face any other adverse effects while taking Natacyn medication.

Precautions

The dropper used for applying the Natacyn medication is meant to remain sterile. If it is contaminated, the patient may catch another infection. Do not let the dropper come into contact with any other surface. This includes your hands and eyes.

You must not buy Natacyn to treat a viral or bacterial infection in your eye. It can only be used to treat fungal eye infections. Natacyn may or may not harm an unborn child. Do not take Natacyn until you have talked to your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or if you are expecting to be pregnant during the period of the treatment. Natacyn may or may not pass into the breast milk. Inform your doctor beforehand if you are breast feeding.

Natacyn Dosage

Natacyn must be administered as prescribed by your doctor. To apply the drops, wash your hands thoroughly and shake the drops gently. Hold the dropper above the eye, look up and pull down your lower eyelid. Squeeze a drop out and close your eye immediately. Apply pressure gently on the corners of your eyes near the nose. This prevents Natacyn from entering into the tear duct. After 5 minutes, apply Natacyn on the other eye. Do not use the eye drop if it has some particles in it or if it is discolored.

An overdose of Natacyn is highly rare. Wash your eye with water and immediately seek medical assistance if this happens. If you have accidentally ingested the drops, drink a lot of fluids and seek medical attention immediately.

Be cautious with your Natacyn medication if you are using contact lenses. Consult your doctor and get their approval before using contact lenses while on a Natacyn treatment. The lenses must generally be removed at the time of the application, and it must not be put back until at least 15 minutes have passed following the application.

Interactions

All medications may potentially interact with other medications. Do not use any other eye medications when you are taking Natacyn medication. Inform your doctor well in advance if you have used or if you are using any other eye medication. Also, talk to your doctor about all the drugs that you have used or you are using presently. You must buy Natacyn only when your doctor prescribes it and use it as recommended..
