General Information On Neoral
Neoral is the drug used to lower the activity of the body’s immune system. You may need to buy Neoral after an organ transplant, to prevent the body from rejecting the organ. Cyclosporine is the generic name for Neoral. The drug is also used to treat severe cases of rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis.
Side Effects for Neoral
Allergic reaction may occur upon taking Neoral and you must seek emergency medical assistance if you suffer from an allergy to Neoral. The symptoms of an allergic reaction include hives and swelling of the face, throat, lips and tongue. You may also suffer from breathing difficulties.
Mild side effects of taking Neoral include tremors, increased hair growth, body pain, headache, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation and numbness or tingling. Inform your doctor if these symptoms persist or grow in intensity.
Serious side effects of the drug include urinating less or not urinating at all, drowsiness, mood swings, increased thirst and blurred vision. Other side effects include headache, pain behind the eyes, weight gain, swelling, muscle pain and weakness and lightheadedness. Some more side effects include signs of infections, like chills, fever, sore throat, symptoms of the flu, pale skin, unusual weakness, easy bleeding or bruising, nausea, loss of appetite, stomach pain, itching, clay colored stools and dark urine. You must immediately seek medical help if you suffer from any of these serious side effects after taking Neoral.
Precautions
Do not buy Neoral if you are allergic to Cyclosporine. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, any type of cancer or uncontrolled high blood pressure. You may not be able to take Neoral if you have any of the above medical conditions.
Inform your doctor if you have been treated for psoriasis with Trexall, radiation, UVB, PUVA or coal tar. Also, tell the doctor if you are on any NSAID, like Motrin, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn or Voltaren. You may need to change your dosage requirements or undergo tests before you are administered Neoral under these conditions.
Neoral may or may not be dangerous to an unborn child. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy before Neoral is prescribed to you. Do not take Neoral if you are breast feeding without the consent of your doctor.
Neoral may lower the blood cells in the body. This can make you susceptible to bleeding from an injury or catching a contagious disease from those around you. Check your blood regularly to monitor the blood cell levels. You may also need to regularly check your blood pressure and kidney function. Do not miss scheduled appointments with your doctor in this case.
Neoral Dosage
You must buy Neoral as per the doctor’s prescription. Do not take the medication for a longer or shorter period than recommended. Neoral may be taken with or without food. The recommended dosage of Neoral is twice each day. The capsules come in four strengths, Neoral 10mg, Neoral 25mg, Neoral 50mg and Neoral 100mg. You may also buy Neoral as an oral suspension, which is 100mg/mL. The liquid must be measured with a specialized spoon or cup for dose-measuring, and not a regular spoon. Ask your pharmacist for a dose measuring cup if you do not have one. The oral solution may be mixed with milk, orange juice or chocolate milk to make it taste better. However, the liquids must be at room temperature.
Interactions
Inform your doctor about all the medications you have taken or are currently taking before you are prescribed Neoral. Due to potential drug interactions, you may be instructed not to buy Neoral if you are taking medications like Prandin, Rheumatrex, Trexal, Eskalith and Lithobid.
