General Information On Niaspan
Niaspan is a formulation that mainly contains Vitamin B3. Vitamin B3 is to be consumed as a part of a balanced diet the deficiency of which can cause diarrhea, dementia and dermatitis. Nispan is, however, given commonly to patients to improve their triglyceride or cholesterol status. Side Effects/Precautions for Niaspan

There are no definite studies regarding the doses for hepatic and renal impaired patients though it is contraindicated for individuals with hepatic impairment. Side effects like flushing of the skin and pruritus can be reduced by taking aspirin 30 minutes before taking Niaspan. These side effects along with gastrointestinal side effects can be avoided by a slow increase in dosage.
