General information on Norvasc
The Norvasc tab contains the ingredient Amlodipine, which when consumed dilates the blood vessels, resulting in lowered levels of blood pressure or angina. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker which relaxes the blood vessels so that blood flows more easily through the arterial walls. This reduces angina and high blood pressure.
Use Norvasc to treat both high blood pressure and angina
Generic Norvasc, a drug chemically identical to Pfizer Norvasc, is also obtainable. Since the chemical composition is the same, generic Norvasc is also highly effective in the treatment of high blood pressure and angina. The usual medication administered for Norvasc and generic Norvasc is 5mg and the maximum is 10mg.
