   Orfadin (Nitisinone)

Sorry, Orfadin (Nitisinone) is currently unavailable

General Information On Orfadin

Patients are prescribed Orfadin (Nitisinone) when they are suffering the Hereditary Tyrosinemia type 1 or HT-1 disorder. Patients suffering from HT-1 are deficient in a particular enzyme which is required for breaking up complex proteins from certain foods. Deficiency of this enzyme results in the inability of the body to break down tyrosine from the food, which results in increased levels of tyrosine in the liver. This drug helps prevent the formation and build up of toxic substances, thus preventing damage to the liver, nervous system and kidneys.

To know more about the drug, make sure you read the patient information leaflet that comes with your medication when you buy Orfadin
