General Information On Pred Forte
Pred Forte is a medication that is used to treat the swelling/inflammation of eyes caused by an infection, surgery, allergy, injury, or certain other conditions. The generic name of this medication is Prednisolone Ophthalmic. It belongs to group of medicines referred as corticosteroids. You can buy Pred Forte as eye drops. Pred Forte works by preventing the release of chemicals that cause inflammation in the eye.
Side Effects for Pred Forte
An allergic reaction may occur after taking Pred Forte. This reaction is characterized by hives, swelling in your tongue, throat, lips or face and difficulty in breathing. Other serious side effects include pain behind the eyes, severe headache, eye pain, blurred vision and tunnel vision. Some more serious side effects include swelling, crusting draining, which are symptoms of a new infection. Stop taking Pred Forte and immediately consult your doctor if you suffer from an allergic reaction or from any of the severe side effects mentioned above.
Some minor side effects may occur when using Pred Forte. These side effects include initial clouding of vision, mild stinging, burning, irritation and itching in the eye, and increased sensitivity to light. Inform your doctor as soon as possible if these side effects persist or if they worsen.
Precautions

Pred Forte Dosage
You must buy Pred Forte as per your doctor’s prescription. The usual dosage of Pred Forte is 1 to 2 drops instilled into the affected eye(s) two to four times a day. Read the patient information leaflet that you receive with this medicine to know how you should apply it. Wash your hands and shake the bottle gently before applying the medication. Tilt your head back a little and pull your lower eyelid down. Look upwards and away from the eye dropper. Squeeze the drop out and then close your eye immediately. Then gently apply pressure on the corners of the eyes near the nose for a minute. This will prevent the liquid from draining into the tear duct.
Do not touch the dropper on any surface, including your eyes and hands. If the dropper is contaminated, it may cause another infection in the eye. This may even lead to long term damage of the eye or even loss of vision.
Interactions
Pred Forte may or may not interact with other medications. Inform your doctor about all the medications that you have recently taken or are still taking, particulary any eye drops, before you buy Pred Forte. This includes vitamin and mineral supplements as well as natural products. Do not start or stop any medication without consulting your doctor.
