General Information On Rebif
Rebif is a purified 166 amino acid glycoprotein. It is used in treating relapsing multiple sclerosis. The drug does not cure multiple sclerosis, but reduces the intensity of symptoms. The Rebif drug comes in injection form and has the potency of 22mcg. While on Rebif, you should get your blood checked often. You may also need to get your liver and thyroid checked regularly. Rebif contains Interferon Beta-1a and therefore, should not be used if you are allergic to human albumin. The drug may also cause depression and suicidal thoughts in some patients. Rebif is not advised for pregnant women, as it may have an adverse impact on the unborn baby. Therefore, do not use this medicine if you are pregnant. There should be a minimum 48 hours gap between the two doses. Rebif should be taken under the guidance of a physician. It should be stored at temperatures between 36 degrees and 46 degrees Fahrenheit. It should be protected from heat. The medicine should also be kept away from light. Further, in no case, Rebif should be used beyond the expiration date.
