Regranex is used for curing diabetes-induced skin ulcers on the lower legs or feet. The Regranex drug is a wound healing agent. It works by helping the tissue grow and heal quickly. Regranex contains Becaplermin, which is a recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor. Regranex should not be used if you are allergic to any ingredient in the medicine. It should also not be used if you have cancerous growths or tumors at the site of application. Regranex comes in 0.01% potency. The gel should not be used if it is expired.

Regranex is meant for external use only. Becaplermin was not found genotoxic in a series of in vitro assays.
