General Information on Sandostatin
Sandostatin is a drug used in the treatment of certain kinds of cancers. It is used for various purposes like the treatment of acromegaly and reducing flushing episodes and watery diarrhea caused by tumors. The generic name of the drug is octreotide and it belongs to the somatostatin analogue group. Somatostain is a hormone that is produced naturally by the brain, guts, and pancreas. It prevents the release of certain other hormones in the body such as growth hormone and insulin.
Patients suffering from gastroenteropancreatic tumors are often advised to buy Sandostatin. The stomach, intestines, and pancreas produce certain important hormones. Cancerous growths in these areas often lead to an oversecretion of hormones. Sandostatin mimics the action of somatostain and decreases the production of these hormones. However, it only helps control the symptoms and is not a cure for cancer.
Side Effects for Sandostatin
You may experience side effects like fatigue, diarrhea, dizziness, gas, headache, high blood pressure, nausea, acne, bloating, vomiting, loose stools, joint pains, and abdominal pain after using Sandostatin. These are mild side effects that go away once the treatment is over.
