General Information on Serdolect

Serdolect is used in the treatment of schizophrenia. The generic name of this medicine is Sertindole, and it belongs to a group of drugs known as antipsychotics. Serdolect is available in form of tablets, and is meant for oral consumption only.

Nerve cells in the brain communicate with each other with the help of neurotransmitters. A disturbance in the level of the neurotransmitters causes disturbances in the communication between the nerve cells. This, in turn, is believed to cause schizophrenia. Serdolect works by inhibiting the actions of two very important neurotransmitters called dopamine and serotonin.
