General Information On Sibelium

The generic name of Sibelium is flunarizine, and it belongs to a group of medicines known as calcium channel blockers. It is used for the treatment of migraine headaches. Sibelium is not a cure for migraine; it only relieves migraine symptoms such as pain, increased sensitivity to light, and increased sensitivity to sound.

Sibelium is a prescription-based drug, meaning you can buy Sibelium only if you have a prescription for it. The drug is available in form of oral capsules.

Side Effects of Sibelium

Like other drugs of its class, Sibelium may cause various side effects. Before you start treatment, speak to your doctor about the attached risks, and how you can minimize them.

This is why it is critical that before you start treatment, you inform your doctor about your medical history and your current medications.

Some patients may experience swelling or bleeding of the gums after taking this medicine. To prevent this, regularly brush and floss your teeth and massage your gums. Sibelium can cause dizziness and drowsiness. During your treatment, exercise caution while performing activities that require you to stay awake and alert. Do not take alcohol during your treatment, as it may increase the severity of some side effects of Sibelium.

It is unclear if Sibelium harms an unborn child. If you are pregnant, do not buy Sibelium, unless your doctor tells you otherwise. The effect of Sibelium on the health of a nursing child has not yet been established. Lactating mothers should use this drug only if their doctor advises them to do so.

Sibelium Dosage

The recommended dosage for patients who are less than 65 years of age is two Sibelium 5 mg capsules at night. For patients who are of 65 years of age or more the recommended starting dose is Sibelium 5 mg once daily.

For best results, it is critical that you take the medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not increase or decrease either the dosage or length of your treatment without consulting your doctor.

Interactions

Sibelium can interact with certain medicines such as anti seizure medicines, anti anxiety medicines, muscle relaxants, sedatives, and tranquilizers. Before you start using Sibelium, inform your doctor about all the drugs that you are currently taking. This includes prescription and non-prescription medicines as well as herbal health supplements.
