General Information on Suprefact Depot 3 Months
Suprefact Depot 3 Months is used for treating endometriosis in women and prostate cancer in men. Its generic name is buserelin acetate and it belongs to the category of antineoplastic agents. Suprefact Depot 3 Months is available in the form of an injection. It works by acting on the pituitary gland of the brain and controlling the production of sex hormones. In the case of prostate cancer, it works by reducing testosterone in the blood, and for endometriosis, it works by reducing estrogen in blood. Continued use of the drug for 3 months leads to sustained inhibition of gonadotropin production, suppressing testicular and ovarian steroidogenesis and reducing circulating levels of gonadal steroids and gonadotropin.
Side Effects for Suprefact Depot 3 Months
Suprefact Depot 3 Months may result in impotence, decrease in libido, and hot flashes in the patient. Sometimes, a patient may also experience headache, appetite loss, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, swelling or tenderness in the breasts, and swelling in the lower legs or feet. Most of these side effects are harmless and subside within a few days. However, if any of these become intolerable, you should stop using the drug and contact your doctor. If you have trouble urinating or suffer from bone pain, tingling, numbness in the feet or hands, or weakness in the leg, you should contact your doctor as these may be signs of some serious underlying problem. Precautions
Men who have got their testicles removed or who have non-hormone dependent cancer should not buy Suprefact Depot 3 Months. Women with untreated or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding are also not advised to take this drug. Sometimes, buserelin acetate can lead to the thinning of bones, and therefore, it should not be used by patients suffering from osteoporosis. If you are using hormonal contraceptives like pills, patches, or rings, you should discontinue using them and use a barrier form of contraception such as condoms, IUDs, or diaphragms.
