General Information On Tanatril
Tanatril is indicated to be used to treat patients with an essential hypertension. Essential hypertension refers to high blood pressure where the cause cannot be identified. As the heart pumps the blood, pressure is wielded on the walls of the arteries. The amount of blood pressure is determined by the quantity of the blood pumped, the diameter and form of the arteries and the actions of the heart itself. This medication belongs to the class of medications known as ACE inhibitors. This drug works by hindering the production of a substance that narrows the blood vessels and releases hormones that can elevate the pressure of the blood. The net result is a relaxation of the blood vessels and a decrease in blood pressure.
Side Effects / Precautions For Tanatril
The primary ingredient of this drug is imidapril hydrochloride. This drug is contraindicated for patients with angioedema (whether genetic or idiopathic), a skin reaction that affects the deeper layers of the skin and the tissues underneath, or if you are more than 3 months pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have renal failure, or are hypersensitive to imidapril. The drug should be used with caution if you are elderly, diabetic, have renal disorders, are in the first trimester of your pregnancy, have improper liver function tests, have had adverse reactions with other ACE therapies or are on other medications for hypertension.
