General Information On Tribenzor

Tribenzor is a combination of three drugs used together for treating high blood pressure. Their generic names are Olmesartan, which belongs to the category of angiotensin receptor blockers, Amlodipine, which is a calcium channel blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a water pill. You can buy Tribenzor in the form of oral pills. Olmesartan prevents the blood vessels from narrowing, Amlodipine relaxes them and improves the flow of blood, and Hydrochlorothiazide prevents the body from storing excess salt. Tribenzor is mostly given to a patient when most other drugs have been unsuccessful in treating this condition.

Side Effects for Tribenzor

Some of the common side effects associated with Tribenzor include dizziness, muscle spasms, flushing, diarrhea, and symptoms of cold such as sneezing, stuffy nose, and sore throat. Most of these improve on their own as your body gets used to the drug. However, if any of these become uncontrollable, you should stop taking the tablets and contact your doctor without fail. Tribenzor can also cause some serious side effects in rare cases. Such side effects include eye pain, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, vision problems, joint pain, burning or pain while urinating, swollen glands, patchy skin color, headache, fainting, hallucinations, muscle ache, red spots under the skin, chest pain, leg discomfort, limp feeling, and jerky muscle movements.

You should not continue using Tribenzor if you develop allergic symptoms. Seek medical help immediately if you develop hives or swelling on the face, throat, lips or tongue after taking Tribenzor.

Precautions

Do not buy Tribenzor if you have severe kidney disease, an allergy to sulfa drugs, or if you are not able to urinate. Your doctor may need to conduct special tests if you are suffering from a kidney or liver disease, heart disease, glaucoma, lupus, diabetes, angina, or congestive heart failure. He/she will not give you Tribenzor if you have diarrhea or if you are already dehydrated. Olmesartan in Tribenzor can cause fatal harm to the unborn baby, especially if taken during the 2nd or 3rd trimester. Therefore, you should not take it if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant during Tribenzor treatment, you should stop taking the medicine and call your doctor.

Tribenzor Dosage

The dosage of Tribenzor recommended to you depends on your age, current blood pressure levels, response to the treatment, and what other medicines you are taking at present. Usually, you will be given Tribenzor 40mg/10mg/25mg. However, it is also available in strengths of 20mg/5mg/12.5mg, 40mg/5mg/25mg, 40mg/5mg/12.5mg, 40mg/10mg/25mg and 40mg/10mg/12.5mg.

Interactions

You should not take Tribenzor if you are already taking barbiturates such as secobarbital, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, narcotic pain relievers such as hydrocodone, steroid medications like prednisone, diabetes medicines, salt substitutes, potassium supplements, heart medicines, or other diuretics. These may interact with Tribenzor adversely and may interfere with its working. Some of them may also worsen the side effects of each other. Therefore, it is better to inform your doctor about all the drugs you are taking at present.
