General information on Latanoprost + Timolol
The Xalacom drug contains two active ingredients called timolol maleate and latanoprost. Latanoprost is a prostaglandin agonist and Timolol maleate is a beta blocker. The function of Latanoprost is to enable more fluid to flow out from the eyes and Timolol maleate minimizes the pressure in the eye by lowering fluid production.
