General Information On Zebinix
Zebinix is a newly launched anti-epileptic medication that is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat the partial onset of seizures with or without secondary generalization. Zebinix contains eslicarbazepine acetate. It is available in the form of an oral tablet.
Epilepsy occurs due to an uncontrolled electrical action in a patient’s brain that causes seizures. Zebinix reduces this electrical activity and curbs the onset of seizures. In addition, the anti-epileptic properties of eslicarbazepine help regulate the working of sodium channels that control epileptic seizures. You can buy Zebinix only if you have got a doctor’s prescription. This drug is generally used as an add-on to other anti-epileptic drugs.
Side Effects for Zebinix
You may experience common side effects such as sleepiness, dizziness, blurred vision, coordination/concentration problems, headache, nausea, diarrhea, skin rashes, tremors, extreme fatigue, vomiting, and vertigo during the initial stages of Zebinix treatment. These problems usually subside after a few days, but if they persist or worsen, you must talk to your doctor. In rare cases, you may suffer from side effects like backache, convulsions, dehydration, difficulty sleeping, confusion, abnormal muscle movements, dryness of the skin, mouth and throat, swelling of the throat and tongue, slower heartbeat, weight loss, tingling in the feet and hands, hair loss, and hypersensitivity. If you observe the above symptoms, stop using Zebinix and consult your physician immediately.
Precautions
Your doctor will not ask you to buy Zebinix if you are above 65 years of age, are pregnant or planning to conceive, allergic to anti-epileptic medications, sensitive to drugs like oxcarbazepine and carbamazepine, have heart problems, hypothyroidism, a kidney disorder, or liver problems. This medicine is not prescribed to patients below 18 years of age. Zebinix can make you feel drowsy and dizzy. Therefore, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing any other activity that requires you to be alert. You may also be asked to avoid or restrict your alcohol intake when you are using this anti-epileptic medication.
Zebinix Dosage
Zebinix 400mg and Zebinix 800mg tablets are available in the market. Your doctor may initially prescribe Zebinix 400mg tablets once or twice a day and gradually increase the dosage after seeing your response to the treatment. A maximum dose of Zebinix 1200mg can be given to patients. The tablet should be swallowed completely with a tall glass of water. You can take this drug on an empty stomach or with food. For better results, take Zebinix at the same time every day. If you forget a dose, then take the next dose as per the schedule. Do not take two doses of the medicine at the same time. It will usually take about 3-6 months for a patient to notice any improvement in his/her condition.
Interactions
Before you buy Zebinix, inform your doctor if you are using any prescription or non-prescription medications, herbal drugs, or natural supplements. Zebinix can interact negatively with medications such as those for heart ailments, drugs that affect metabolism, diuretics, hormonal contraceptives, oral contraceptives, cytochrome P450 system, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
