General Information On Zomig
Zomig is a prescription medicine indicated for the treatment of migraine headaches with or without aura in adults. It works by narrowing the blood vessels around the brain and helps reduce substances in the body responsible for headache. It should be used only in clear cases of migraine after proper diagnosis. If a patient does not respond well to the drug after the first attack of migraine, the diagnosis should be reconsidered before going for further treatment with it. Zomig helps in reducing migraine symptoms like flashing lights or dark spots, although it is not used for the prevention of migraine.
Side Effects/Precautions For Zomig
Zomig or Zolmitriptan should not be used for the treatment of headaches caused by tension or any other types of headaches. It should not be taken within a 24 hour period of using any other migraine medicine. It is not advised for people with heart disease, angina, liver disease, high blood pressure or an allergy to brand or generic Zomig.
