General Information On Zyprexa Zydis

In combination with other medicines, it can also be used for the treatment of depression. Olanzapine is an anti-manic or anti-psychotic agent, which helps in restoring the balance of natural chemicals in a patient’s brain known as neurotransmitters. If you use the drug for a long period, you will feel less nervous, experience fewer hallucinations, and be able to concentrate better. Sometimes, Zyprexa Zydis can also be used for preventing vomiting and nausea after chemotherapy.
Side Effects for Zyprexa Zydis
Some common side effects of Zyprexa Zydis include weight gain, increased appetite, restlessness, tiredness, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, memory problems, constipation, stomach pain, pain in the legs or arms, back pain, a tingly or numb feeling, breast discharge or swelling in both men and women, and missed menstrual periods in women. You need to contact your doctor immediately if you have high fever, stiff muscles, uncontrolled movements of the eyes, tongue, or lips, infrequent urination, high blood sugar, problems with speech, balance, or vision, swelling of the feet or hands, hallucinations, unusual behaviors or thoughts, suicidal thoughts, dark urine, yellowing of the eyes or skin, upper stomach pain, or clay colored stools.
Precautions
Before you buy Zyprexa Zydis, you should inform your doctor if you are suffering from liver disease, heart disease, diabetes, bowel problems, narrow angle glaucoma, or an enlarged prostate. You should also inform him/her if you have a history of low or high blood pressure, low WBC count, high triglycerides or cholesterol, heart attack, stroke or heart failure, breast cancer, seizures, or epilepsy. As Zyprexa Zydis makes you dizzy, you should not drive a vehicle or do any such activity that requires complete alertness. The drug can lead to withdrawal symptoms, feeding problems, breathing problems, tremors, stiff or limp muscles, and fussiness in an unborn baby, and therefore, it is not recommended for pregnant women.
Zyprexa Zydis Dosage
Adults are given Zyprexa Zydis 5mg-10mg once a day, while teenagers are given Zyprexa Zydis 2.5mg-5mg once a day. In order to treat bipolar disorder, adults are given Zyprexa Zydis 5mg-15mg once a day, not exceeding 20mg. The dosages can be adjusted depending on the patient’s age, medical condition, and response to treatment. While taking the tablet, put it on your tongue so that it can dissolve within a few seconds. After that, you can easily swallow it with or without water.
Interactions
Zyprexa Zydis should not be taken with blood pressure or heart related medications and medicines used for treating Parkinson’s disease, such as levodopa, ropinirole, pramipexole, or selegiline. Other drugs that may interact adversely with Zyprexa Zydis include carbamazepine, diazepam, fluoxetine, olanzapine, fluvoxamine, omeprazole, and rifampin. As this drug causes dizziness, you should not take it with other medications or substances that produce the same effect, such as sedatives, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, cold and cough medicines, and antidepressants.
