Side Effects / Precautions for Zyvox
You should not use Zyvox (Linezolid) if you have used an MAO inhibitor such as tranylcypromine (Parnate), phenelzine (Nardil), selegiline (Emsam, Eldepryl), isocarboxazid (Marplan) or rasagiline (Azilect) in the last 14 days as you may have severe side effects. Zyvox drug should also not be used if you are taking meperidine (Demerol), buspirone (BuSpar), any diet supplement, ADHD medicine like Dexedrine or Adderall, pseudoephedrine, Zomig or Imitrex, medicines used for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, or some antidepressant like Celexa, Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft.
Linezolid should not be used if you have uncontrolled or untreated high blood pressure, adrenal gland tumor, a carcinoid tumor or a seriously overactive thyroid. You should consult your doctor before taking brand or generic Zyvox if you have any liver or kidney problem, high blood pressure, a weak immune system, a seizure disorder or bone marrow suppression. Some patients were reported to have developed a life-threatening situation called lactic acidosis while consuming brand or generic Zyvox. You should immediately consult a doctor if you experience any symptoms of this condition like muscle pain, weakness, cold or numbness in your legs and arms, stomach pain, trouble breathing, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, uneven heart rate or feeling of tiredness.
