General Information on Invanz Injection

Invanz injection is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. The generic name of this antibiotic is Ertapenem, which belongs to the antibiotics class called Carbapenems. The antibiotic cures infections by killing the bacteria that cause them. Invanz injection is recommended to treat a variety of severe bacterial infections of the lungs, skin, stomach, pelvis, and urinary tract.

It is also used to treat diabetic foot infections in patients having chronic bone infection and to prevent infections in particular types of surgery. You may have to buy Invanz injection if you are unable to tolerate other antibiotics or if other antibiotics are not able to cure the bacterial infection.

Invanz Side Effects

Dosage should never increase 1g per day. Intravenous infusion of the injection can be taken for up to 14 days and or it be taken as an intramuscular injection for 7 days. Intravenously the injection needs to be infused over a period of half an hour (30 minutes)

Interactions

The drug may not interact well with other medications you take and can cause serious side effects. Therefore, it is necessary that you tell your doctor about every medication you take. You should not arbitrarily make a decision to start, stop or change the dosage of other medications after taking an Invanz injection in fear of suffering from the side effects. The antibiotic may interact with other drugs such as Probenecid, live bacterial vaccines, and Valproic acid/Divalproate. Invanz may also reduce the effectiveness of hormonal birth control pills.
