General Information On Lustra

Lustra is a topical application used for inhibiting melanin formation in the skin, a pigment which gives your skin its color. Your doctor may also recommend you to buy Lustra if you have freckles, melasma, age spots, or chloasma on your skin and you wish to lighten them. The generic name for this medicine is hydroquinone cream, and it belongs to the category of topical de-pigmenting agents. It works by blocking the discoloration process, and you can buy it in the form of a topical application to be used as prescribed by your doctor.

Side Effects for Lustra

Mild burning, redness, dryness, and stinging in the topical area may occur, but if any of these conditions become intolerable, you should contact your doctor immediately. Apart from that, you should immediately stop using Lustra and seek medical help if you develop skin cracking, blistering, or blue-black skin darkening. Although this cream rarely causes any allergic reactions, it can be identified by severe dizziness, rash, hives, itching or swelling of the face, throat, tongue, or lips or trouble breathing. If you notice any of these symptoms, you should discontinue the medicine and inform your doctor about the symptoms.

Precautions

Most importantly, you should not use Lustra on wind burned, sun burned, chapped, dry, or irritated skin, or on an open wound on your body, as it may worsen the condition. Wait for these conditions to get better or subside before you can continue applying Lustra. Your doctor will need to conduct special tests if you have a liver or kidney disease or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This medicine can be harmful for an unborn child and it is not yet known whether it can pass into breast milk or not. So, you should use this medicine only if extremely necessary. While using Lustra, you should make sure that it does not touch your eyes or mouth; if that happens, you should immediately rinse the area thoroughly with water. Avoid using other skin products while using this medicine, including harsh soaps, skin cleaners, shampoos, permanent or hair coloring chemicals, waxes, or hair remover creams and any other products that contain spices, lime, astringent, or alcohol, as it may cause extreme irritation. Avoid being exposed to sunlight, tanning beds, or sunlamps, as Lustra may increase your sensitivity to sunlight and may result in serious sunburn. If going out is inevitable, you should use an SPF 15 sunscreen and wear protective clothes.

Lustra Dosage

Apply Lustra 4% on the affected area twice a day, preferably at the same time each day. Store the tube at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. If it gets inside your nose or mouth or on your lips, it may cause numbness and therefore, if you accidentally get the cream in these areas, you should immediately rinse it with a lot of water.

Interactions

Before your doctor recommends you to buy Lustra, you should inform him/her about all the medicinal products you are using at present, especially if they include topical applications or oral medications for treating your condition.
