General Information On Mentax

An antifungal drug, Mentax is used topically to treat various fungal infections of the skin such as Athlete’s foot (interdigital tinea pedis), ringworm (tinea corporis), pityriasis (tinea versicolor), and jock itch (tinea cruris). The generic name of this medicine is Butenafine. It works by preventing the growth of fungus on your skin.

Side Effects for Mentax

This drug may cause some unwanted side effects in some patients. During the treatment, especially in the beginning, you may experience mild itching, redness, burning, or irritation at the application site. These symptoms are not expected to cause serious concern, but if they do, then you must consult your doctor.

In rare cases, Butenafine may trigger some serious side effects such as swelling, blistering, or oozing in the area where you have applied this cream. You should inform your doctor as soon as you notice any of these symptoms.

Mentax Dosage

The dosage of Mentax depends on the type and severity of the fungal infection. The recommended dosage for patients suffering from tinea versicolor is Mentax once daily for a period of two weeks. For Athlete’s foot, the recommended dosage is Mentax twice daily for a period of one week or Mentax once a day for 28 days. After studying your fungal infection, your doctor will prescribe the correct dose for you. Follow his/her instructions and ensure that you do not miss a dose. Do not stop the medication before the stipulated period even if your conditions start to improve.

Interactions
