General Information on Rescriptor

Rescriptor is used to treat HIV infection. The generic name of the drug is Delavirdine Mesylate. The drug belongs to group of drugs known as NNRTIs (non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors). Reverse transcriptase is one of the enzymes important to HIV in order to replicate and spread. The drug inhibits the virus production process and slows down the growth and spread of HIV infection in the body. The drug is available in the form of a tablet. Rescriptor is not used singularly to treat HIV infection but used along with two other anti-HIV medicines. The drug is not a cure for your HIV infection but it may help improve your quality of life and prevent further complications of HIV infection. The drug is a prescription medicine and it is important that you buy Rescriptor only after proper consultation with your doctor.

Side Effects for Rescriptor

Every individual is biologically different from other people. Therefore, medicines may react differently in different people. Some people may experience minor to severe side effects while some people may not experience any side effects at all. Stomach pain, mood changes, constipation, bloating, blurred vision, joint or muscle pain, stuffy nose, sleep problems, and trouble in concentration are some of the less serious side effects that may be experienced by some people after taking the drug. Minor effects may disappear after some time as the body adjusts to the medicine. However, you should immediately inform your doctor if any side effects become bothersome or persist for long time. Serious side effects of Rescriptor are very unlikely but some people may experience serious side effects such as red skin rash, sore throat, easy bleeding or bruising, flu symptoms or body aches. You should immediately stop taking the medication and inform your doctor about any serious side effects.

Precautions

Rescriptor may not be the right medication for people with certain medical conditions. You should tell your doctor if you have any allergies to any medicines, food, dyes or preservatives or you suffer from Achlorhydria. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should talk to their doctor before starting the treatment. The drug does not prevent the spread of HIV to other people. Therefore, you are required to take precautionary measures that are advised to prevent HIV transmission to other persons. You should exercise caution regarding use of the drug and buy Rescriptor only after consulting your doctor.

Rescriptor Dosage

You are required to take Rescriptor with other HIV medications prescribed by your doctor. The doctor will provide you with specific instructions regarding dosage. You should not take Rescriptor in larger or smaller amount than what is prescribed by your doctor. The medication is available in two different strengths; Rescriptor 100mg tablet and Rescriptor 200mg tablet. The recommended dose of Rescriptor is 400 mg three times a day. Your doctor may ask you to take four Rescriptor 100mg tablets three times a day or two Rescriptor 200mg three times a day. If required, you can dissolve the tablets in 3 ounces of water to facilitate oral administration of the drug. You can take the medication with or without food.

Interactions

If you take Rescriptor with other medicines (other than the two anti-HIV medicines prescribed in the treatment), it may not work as intended or it may cause other drugs to work differently. Rescriptor may interact with other medications such as Amphetamines, specific Arrhythmia medications, benzodiazepine medications, seizure medications, and calcium channel blockers, Clarithromycin, Dexamethasone, Ergot medications, Protease inhibitors and several other medicines. Therefore, you need to tell your doctor about every medicine you are taking to decrease the risk of drug interactions and side effects.
