General Information on Sintrom

An anticoagulant, Sintrom is used for stopping blood clotting. The generic name of the drug is Acenocoumarol, and it belongs to a group of drugs referred as blood thinners. Sintrom is used to treat thrombotic disorders, which causes obstructions in normal blood flow.

Doctors recommend that patients who suffer from atrial fibrillation or abnormal heart rhythm should also buy Sintrom. This drug has also been found effective in preventing blood clots in the lung. In addition, this drug is used with other medications to treat transient ischemic attacks or mini strokes. Sintrom works by blocking the reuse of Vitamin K in our liver. As it is a prescription-based drug, you should buy Sintrom only if your doctor has prescribed the drug for your treatment.

Side Effects of Sintrom

Sintrom may cause certain side effects. Some patients complain of gastro intestinal bleeding, diarrhea, headache, blood in stools, bleeding gums, dizziness, nose bleeds, heavy menstruation bleeding, numbness of hands, feet and mouth, shortness of breath, unexplained swelling, dyspnoea after taking this drug. You should contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the above symptoms.

In rare cases, patients may experience jaundice-like symptoms (loss of appetite, dark urine, tarry or black stools, yellowing of the skin or eyes), pruritis, fever with chills, or an allergic reaction (hives, swelling of the body parts, wheezing, difficulty breathing) after taking this drug. Precautions

Before using an anticoagulant like Sintrom, inform your doctor if you are suffering from any allergies, aneurysm, blood disorders, diabetes, hypertension, heart infection, liver illness, or ulcer. Using an anticoagulant might aggravate any existing medical problem. Patients with liver and kidney disease should not start medication without consulting a doctor. Generally in such cases, the patient needs to be monitored closely to ensure no life-threatening side effect develops.

Pregnant women should not buy Sintrom, as it has been found to harm an unborn child. The contents of this drug are known to pass into the breast milk and cause harm to a nursing child. So, in case you are breast feeding, you should not use Sintrom.
