General Information On Travatan

Travatan is an ophthalmic solution used to treat high pressure inside the eye of people suffering from open angle glaucoma. Fluid is constantly formed and drained from the eye. In cases where this fluid is not drained properly, the pressure inside the eye increases. Travatan helps to drain out the fluid, thus lowering the pressure considerably.

The generic name of Travatan is Travoprost, which belongs to a class of medications called Prostaglandin analogues. Ocular hypertension, if not treated, can lead to blindness. The drug starts working within 2 hours of application.
