General Information On Lialda
Lialda is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease. It appears to increase mucous production in the small and large intestine, which in turn reduces irritation from foods passing through. This medication is suitable for both men and women that suffer from symptoms associated with swollen intestinal tissue. It is provided in specially coated pills that do not begin to break down until they have almost passed through the stomach. Lialda 2.4g or 4.8g tablets are usually taken once per day with meals.
Side Effects/Precautions For Lialda
The most common side effects associated with taking brand or generic Lialda or Mesalamine include gas, headache and hair loss. Typically, these side effects are not severe enough to cause patients to stop taking this medication.
